Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Meikasa Properties, LLC, which operates FactHound. They govern your use of the FactHound app, the FactHound API, the FactHound WordPress plugin and the FactHound Shopify app. Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using FactHound, you agree to them.
1. The service
FactHound helps businesses publish verified facts about themselves in formats that AI assistants and search engines can read. Depending on your plan and setup, the service includes:
- structured data (JSON-LD) for your website’s pages;
- an llms.txt file for your domain;
- hosted Markdown copies of your verified facts and of the public pages of your site;
- an
/askAPI that answers questions about your business from your published facts; - a crawler, FactHoundBot, that reads the public pages of sites you have verified;
- the FactHound WordPress plugin and the FactHound Shopify app, which deliver your published profile to your site.
FactHound is at an early stage. We may add, change or remove features as the service develops.
2. Accounts
You need an account to use the app. You sign in through our authentication provider. You must give accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials secure and tell us promptly at ameikle@2amlabs.com if you think someone has accessed your account without permission. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. If you use FactHound for a business or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation. Workspace owners and administrators are responsible for the people they invite and the roles they give them.
3. Your content and the licence you give us
“Your content” means the information you or your team add to FactHound, such as your business profile and facts, and the content of the public pages of your verified sites. You keep all rights you have in your content.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transform (for example into JSON-LD, llms.txt and Markdown), publish and distribute your content to AI agents, search engines and the public, to the extent needed to provide and improve the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that are already public, content in backups until they expire, and anything we must keep by law.
Publishing is the purpose of FactHound: published content is available to anyone and may be copied by third parties, including AI providers. We cannot recall copies that others have made. You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the rights needed to give us this licence.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
4. Acceptable use
You agree that you will:
- add only websites that you own or control, or that you are authorised to manage for their owner;
- complete ownership verification (a DNS record, the WordPress plugin or the Shopify app) before anything is published for a site; and
- keep your published facts accurate and up to date.
You agree that you will not:
- publish content that is unlawful, misleading, deceptive, defamatory or that infringes anyone’s rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
- impersonate another business or person, or publish facts about a business you do not represent;
- abuse the API or the crawler, including by getting around rate limits, sending automated traffic designed to overload the service, or directing FactHoundBot at sites you do not control;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the service, other accounts or our systems, or probe, scan or test their vulnerability without our written permission;
- interfere with the service or use it to distribute malware; or
- use the service in breach of applicable law.
5. AI assistants and answers
FactHound publishes your facts in open formats that AI assistants and search engines can read. We do not control those third parties. We do not guarantee that any assistant or search engine will read, use or cite your information, that it will answer questions about your business correctly, or that your business will be recommended. Answers from our /ask API are based on the facts you publish, so they are only as accurate as those facts.
6. Plans and fees
Plan prices are shown on facthound.co. Payments are not yet live. We will not charge you without first showing you the price and the payment terms that apply, and you will have the chance to accept them before any charge.
7. Suspension and termination
You may stop using FactHound at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing ameikle@2amlabs.com. We may suspend or end your access, or stop publishing specific content, if you breach these terms, if your use creates a risk for FactHound, other users or third parties, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may also discontinue the service; if we do, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
When your access ends, we stop publishing your content. Sections 3 (for content already public), 5 and 9 to 14 continue to apply.
8. Third-party services
FactHound works with services we do not operate, such as your website host or content management system, WordPress, Shopify, your DNS provider and AI assistants. Your use of them is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for them, and changes they make may affect how FactHound works.
9. Warranty disclaimer
FactHound is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any content will be accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, FactHound and Meikasa Properties, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunities, arising out of or relating to these terms or the service, even if we were told they were possible.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these terms or the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and 100 US dollars.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless FactHound and Meikasa Properties, LLC against claims, damages, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, brought by third parties and arising from your content, your use of the service or your breach of these terms.
12. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia (USA), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. This does not take away any right you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will publish the new version on this page with a new effective date, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let account holders know before they take effect. If you keep using FactHound after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service.
14. General
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about FactHound. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
