Connect your website
Connect a Wix website
Paste your FactHound code into Wix’s Custom Code settings, so AI tools can read your approved business facts.
Before you start
- A published Wix site with a connected domain. Wix allows custom code only on sites with a connected domain, which needs a Wix Premium plan.
- Your website is added in FactHound, and Wix is chosen under Where is your website built? on the Website setup page.
- You can edit your Wix site.
Why you paste code
AI tools such as ChatGPT read your website’s code, not just the words on the page. FactHound gives you a short block of code with your approved business facts. When it is in your site’s header code, AI tools can read those facts directly. The code also proves to FactHound that the website is yours.
You paste code twice. First a single line, which proves the website is yours. Then, once your business details are published, the full code.
Copy your code from FactHound
- Sign in to FactHound and open Website setup.
- In the Install code card, select the copy button next to the code.
Paste it into Wix
- In Wix, open Settings → Custom Code.
- Select Add Custom Code.
- Paste the code into the box.
- Apply it to All pages.
- Place it in Head.
- Select Apply.
Check it in FactHound
- Go back to Website setup in FactHound.
- Select Check for the install code.
When it works, you see “Install code found. Your site is connected.” If you see “We couldn’t find the install code on your homepage”, read “We couldn’t find the install code”: fixes.
Replace the line with the full code
Once your business details are published, the Install code card shows the full code. If your business details aren’t published yet, the Publication card on the same page lists what is left to do.
- Copy the full code with the copy button.
- In Wix, open Settings → Custom Code and edit the code you added before.
- Delete the old line, paste the full code in its place, and select Apply.
When your facts change
On Wix, the code is a snapshot of your business details. It doesn’t update by itself. When you change your business details or facts, copy the new code from the Install code card and paste it over the old code. FactHound shows Update your pasted code when the code on your website is out of date.
About llms.txt
FactHound also makes an llms.txt file, under Advanced on the Website setup page. You can skip it. Wix can’t serve files at your domain root, so llms.txt can’t be installed there. AI tools still find your business details through the code you pasted.
